Ditch Perfection

Face it. Some days are going to be harder than others. Not all days will be the perfect blend of work and life. There will be times that you need to hunker down and get the job done, while other days you can relax a bit more.

On those days, remember that sometimes getting things done for the sake of getting it off your list is enough. Some nights you may have to order pizza instead of cooking a healthy dinner and that is ok. Whereas sometimes you may have to skim through your e-mails and cherry pick the most important ones.

Celebrate the Art of Saying No

Believe it or not, you do not have to go around saying yes to everything. You are a busy entrepreneur, and the goal is to reduce your daily commitments, not add to them. Remember the art of prioritization and only say yes to the activities that truly add value to your life and business. 

Exercise

Adequate exercise does not always consist of an expensive gym membership and daily hour long work-outs. Chances are, if you are reading this, adding that much time to your schedule would simply not work. However, there are great exercise videos and apps that allow you to get a great work-out in merely minutes. Also, do not forget that getting outside, taking a walk or riding a bike is excellent exercise as well. Double that time up with spending time with your family, and you can all enjoy the benefits! 

Schedule Downtime

In order to operate at your maximum level, you need to schedule downtime into your daily routine. It will help you recharge and structure your thoughts to take on the remainder of the day.

This could be as little as 5 minutes to take a break, meditate or sit in silence. 20 minutes is ideal, but if 5 minutes is all you can squeeze in for the day, that is ok too.

Balance is not impossible, but it is strategic

Being a successful entrepreneur does not always require you running on full throttle. Take time out to remember your priorities, keep your health in top shape by getting in exercise, schedule in downtime and remember to say no to activities that do not add value in your life.
