Although not easy, in order to kill it online and achieve the success you are striving for, balance is key. Sure you can work longer hours, but I will guarantee that over time, the other parts of your life will deteriorate. So if you are one of those entrepreneurs who wants to achieve Level 10 success in all areas of your life- including financial, love and relationships, then read on to the last part of our 3-part series.

Rome was not built in a day- small changes first

Have you ever started an extreme exercise or diet regimen with the BEST intentions in the world, but found by day 3 you were tired, sore and starving? Chances are (because we have all been there) you reverted back to your old habits, and did not see any significant changes.

But what if you started out slow and paced yourself? First, you started walking and cutting out snacks- next, you upped your pace to running and cut down on sugar. I bet you would have a greater success rate than if you did it all at once.

It is the same with building new habits. You need to first start out small- then build upon those changes. Implement a few of these tips, and as you strengthen your work-life balance muscle, implement a few more. 

Set Boundaries

As much as you may scoff at the idea, clients do not need to reach you 24/7. In fact, if you are too available, you are leaving yourself vulnerable to creating a business where you can never get away.

A simple, professional and friendly way to set boundaries is to communicate to each new client (and existing client if you haven’t already) the times you are available. For instance, you hold office hours 8am-3pm and 7pm-10pm every day. Any-time after that, clients can reach you by e-mail or text message if necessary.

Each business owner’s boundaries will look different, but take some time to think of a time block that would truly make sense for your business. 

Put Guilt on the back-burner

Most entrepreneurs thrive on guilt. When we are at work, we are guilty for not being with our families. When we are with our family, we feel as though we need to be out there working.

In order to achieve work-life balance, you need to scrap the guilt and focus on the task in front of you. Attending an industry conference to gain more business? Give it your all! Sitting down playing with your kids in the afternoon? Enjoy it! After-all, isn’t that why you started your own business in the first place?

Balance is not easy, but it can be achieved. As you are implementing these 10 tips covered over this three part series, give yourself time and be patient. Not all days are going to be a perfect, but with a little bit of focus can create the perfect blend to suit you.
