We used to call it science fiction. Now it is a new online reality for this millennium. With innovative features like Google Home and Amazon Echo, you don’t even have to pick up the phone to order a pizza and have it delivered to your home or office.
Google Home is part of the voice interactive feature that the big internet titans have produced as the newest marketing trend, less human interaction and quicker service – in this case, faster pizza delivery. At this time, Pizza Hut and Domino’s are the two major pizza chains that have come on-board with this latest service feature.
This new convenience can be initiated through the Pizza Hut Alexa skill. You’ll be asked to create a Pizza Hut account then given an option to hook up your credit or debit card to the system so you won’t have to repeat the same 16 numbers every time there’s a football game on television. Or you can pay cash when it is delivered or picked up at the store.
The start-up process is similar when activating your Domino’s Pizza Alexa skill except there is a little more mobile interaction. With Domino’s, you go to www.dominos.com to create your own profile and “Easy Order” pizza. When you order, ask for the “Easy Order” (presumably, your favorite ingredients and drink) or you can log into your account and order something different.
When ordering from Pizza Hut or Domino’s, there is a tracking feature to find out the progress of your order in case the traditional 30-minutes or less promise gets nixed by the human factor.
