Call Them by Their New Names

July 24th, 2018 will literally be a brand new day for Google’s core advertising products Adwords and Double Click. Both of these platforms will undergo a rebranding. You can call Google Adwords by its new and comparatively unpretentious name ‘Google Ads’ from now on.

The three major campaign types available today, including Search, Display and Video will remain unaltered. The rebranding is intended to enhance user experience and to optimize technology to modern changes, trends and developments in online advertising.

The changes will come to effect by July 24th, 2018 and will not affect any existing services or costs.

As part of Google’s efforts to make advertising a piece of cake for small businesses, it is also introducing a new campaign type in Google Ads which will make it easier for newer advertisers to kick-start their online advertising campaign without any sophistication. This feature known as Smart campaigns will help smaller businesses to reach those audiences who are interested in what these entrepreneurs have to provide.

Google Ad Manager & Google Marketing Platform

DoubleClick for Publishers and DoubleClick Ad Exchange are combined to an efficient and publisher-friendly platform under the name Google Ad Manager. The existing integration between DoubleClick Digital Marketing and Google Analytics 360 Suite will be streamlined to a simple and unified platform in the name Google Marketing Platform which will bring together ad and analytics technology to one place. This will help marketers to plan, buy, measure, and optimize digital media and customer experience in simpler and more automated interface.

“These new brands will help advertisers and publishers of all sizes choose the right solutions for their businesses, making it even easier for them to deliver valuable, trustworthy ads and the right experiences for consumers across devices and channels.” -said Sridhar Ramaswamy, Senior Vice President, Ads and Commerce, Google, in a recent blog post.

Optimized for Mobiles

Mobile has now become an inevitable part of our lives today. People use it for multiple purposes like buying products, watching videos, browsing content, playing games and so on. This is an advantage for advertisers because advertising can be done across different channels now. The rebranding of Google’s advertising products will provide us more simplified platforms with streamlined iterations to enhance user experience using faster, mobile-friendly technology.

Marketers and advertisers across the world are awaiting the launch of Google’s new advertising product brands for an easier than ever online advertising experience.
